“If She Can Do It, So Can I”

       What happens when a small town, Montana woman decides to jump, without a net, into a new life in tropical paradise and a foreign world of unknown parameters? It’s surprising, it’s scary and it’s a whole lot of fun! I’m Lisa Valencia and in September of 2007, I took that leap. My book, “If She Can Do It, So Can I !” chronicles two years of personal experience and gives an unbiased, insiders view of what it’s really like in Costa Rica.
       This compelling and informative book begins with ambivalent feelings about leaving and moving to Costa Rica, but my enthusiasm for the future outweighs an attachment to the past and I lunge forward, learning Spanish, maneuvering through San Jose, and finally making my way out to the Caribbean to build a life of my own creative design.
       I tell of my triumphs and I spare you no tears in an effort to be genuine and give a clear picture of Costa Rica culture and living.
