Silvana - Linda Vista
If everyone I encounter treats me as my preceding hosts have, I will return home with delusions of grandeur and you’ll all have to bow down to Reina (Queen) Lisa! I was given free reign, in the Panamanian home of the Canos, while they helped me with my car problems and quelled my apprehension. My second host, Silvana from Slovenia, who lives in Linda Vista, has treated me like an honored guest. She cooked me gourmet meals, washed my clothes – even my flip flops – and quite charmingly, entertained me with all her stories, in her endearing Slovenian accent. Such royal treatment, in this majestic, natural setting, has indeed put my head in the clouds. I am writing this at about 3500 feet elevation, in Linda Vista, just above the town of San Vito.

With a few more minor adjustments to my engine, I was back on the road on Tuesday. Running on all four cylinders, I am happy to say, I left David and drove to Linda Vista, near San Vito.

Pan American Highway in Panama      The going was smooth and straight on the fine Panama highway and the border crossing was easy. I proceeded to the town of Neily and then on up into the magnificent mountains.

mountainside garden       It feels just magical up here at the misty mountaintops. There are charming little houses with breathtaking views and sweet hillside gardens. The people smile and wave as I drive by. And everything is so resplendently green! I arrived at Silvana’s house in the afternoon and was indulged with two days of relaxation.

…….and together, we talked of our lives, originating at opposite ends of the world, yet with so much in common. It has been a wonderful respite, in Linda Vista. Now I continue on to San Isidro de el General.
